Fumigation of feathers and animal-origin materials
GCC fumigates feathers and other animal-origin materials used in apparel and bedding before export. Treatment is carried out at the shipper's warehouse or at Cat Lai port, Cai Mep port or the Tan Thanh border gate (Lang Son), under our licence for treating goods subject to plant quarantine.
Why treatment is needed
Bagged and baled feathers and animal-origin materials are easily infested by beetles and other pests that feed on feathers and wool. Eggs and larvae sit deep inside the bags, where they are hard to see. Goods of animal origin are also closely checked by importing countries, and a shipment without the right treatment certificate may be held, re-treated or sent back.
How GCC helps
- Fumigation of goods in containers, or at the warehouse before loading
- Advice on the treatment method required by the importing country
- Bilingual English and Vietnamese treatment certificate with a QR code for verification, issued about 10 minutes after treatment when documents are complete
- Inspection of quantity, weight and packing for the same shipment when the client needs it
Before booking
Please tell us the material, packing (bags or pressed bales), number of containers, treatment location, destination country and loading date. GCC will recommend a method and assign the right team.
